Project Timeline

Trust Youth projects take approximately 8-12 weeks to complete, with the celebration event taking place in the Summer term.
Projects can begin at any time during the school year, however we advise taking exams and holidays into consideration when planning to start Trust Youth.

Below follow a brief overview of the project stages. Further detail is available in your Facilitator pack

Project stages:

1: Signing up for Trust Youth
You will need to have completed and returned the application form, sent payment to Trust Youth, and returned the signed partnership agreement. Please contact us asap if you are having any problems with any of this.

2: Trust Youth assembly
We will run a short TY assembly in school to introduce and promote the project to your students, inviting them to sign up and take part. If you are wishing to target a specific group of students, the TY assembly may not be required.

3: Forming the team
You will need to identify which students will be taking part, and at during what time (e.g. during Citizenship lessons, out of schools hours etc) and inform TY

4: TY training event
Trust Youth will visit the school to run a training session with the group. The date and time can be booked with your Trust Youth coordinator

5: Choosing charity
After the training session, students can begin to research which of our charity partners they wish to support using the Choosing your Charity Partner section on our website. Once the students have chosen, please inform your TY coordinator, who will then contact the charity on your behalf to arrange for a mentor to visit

6: Weekly meetings
Students will need to meet weekly during the designated Trust Youth time, and work their way through the Student Pack to plan their fundraising and awareness raising events

7: Mentor visits
The mentor will arrange to visit the student 3 times throughout the project. The initial visit will be arranged by your TY coordinator at a time to suit both you and the mentor. You can then either agree with the mentor to contact them directly to arrange the subsequent visits, or ask your TY coordinator to manage this for you

8: Holding the events
The responsibility for the planning, scheduling and running of the fundraising event(s) is the responsibility of the students. Your TY coordinator will keep in regular contact with you to see how things are coming along and offer any advice or support should you need it. We would also be keen to come along to the event if possible!

9: The Trust Youth Celebration
This will take place during the Summer Term. Your TY coordinator will keep you informed of the date, time and venue. Please also check back to the website for updated information. You will need to secure permission from your school to attend, and arrange for parental consent forms to be completed for each child attending.

10: The Careers in third sector Workshop
This can be offered to an entire year group. Please contact your TY coordinator for more info on the session and to book a date.
